Chipping Event Returns For 2019 – Stony Plain
The Town of Stony Plain will once again host the annual Christmas Tree Chipping Event this month. Mayor William Choy will participate in the tree chipping along with members of Town of Stony Plain Administration.
Residents can take part in this green initiative by dropping off their Christmas trees to be chipped into mulch for use in landscaping. All trees must be dropped off to the Rotary Recycling Center by the end of the day on January 18th. Trees will not be accepted after this date.
“Every year, too many Christmas trees unnecessarily end up in landfills. This program allows us to divert hundreds of trees away from the landfills by recycling them for reuse in our community parks, greenspaces, and landscaping,” says Mayor William Choy.
“We appreciate the community’s commitment to this program. Those who participate are not only doing their part by being environmentally responsible, they are also helping make Stony Plain more beautiful by recycling their trees for use in landscaping projects.”
Don’t Just Trash It! Drop your Christmas Trees off to the Rotary Recycle Center on or before January 18th. For more details, go to www.stonyplain.com/MyWaste.
