August Outdoor Movie! Stony Plain, 2019

Every third Thursday in August, watch a family friendly movie on the big screen, while enjoying munchies and refreshments provided by the Stony Plain FCSS Youth Centre to raise funds for programming. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and the whole family! It’s a great way to spend a summer evening!

Pre-movie activites start at 7 pm and include:

  • Arts and crafts
  • Games
  • Face painting

Arrive early to save your spots, enjoy the games, get your face painted and make a craft. Then snuggle in with your lawn chairs and blankets to watch the movie Mary Poppins Returns at sundown.

  • In case of bad weather, the movie will be shown inside the Pavilion

Summer Sessions 2019 – Stony Plain

Bring your blanket or lawn chair to this free music series featuring Canadian talent. Grab a bite to eat at the on-site BBQ or bring a picnic to enjoy. Fun for kids and adults alike! Come early to get a good spot and hear our Special Guest performances, starting at 6:30 p.m.

Summers Sessions concerts are rain or shine events. Please come prepared for the weather!

The Town of Stony Plain is known for it’s magnificent outdoor paintings. Over 39 murals are located throughout downtown and surrounding areas. The artworks have been created by 23 different artists from across Canada!

Stony Plain Central School Servicing And Open House

Wednesday, July 10, 2019 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

An open house for Stony Plain Central School Servicing Project will be held on Wednesday, July 10 from 4-7pm at the Stony Plain Community Centre (5008-51 ave).

The project will involve extending the road from the west end of 57 avenue, and installing new underground infrastructure and a round-a-bout. The anticipated start date is July 15 with a targeted completion date of October 18, 2019. These dates are weather dependant.

There will be increased traffic along 57th avenue. Construction signs will be put in place cautioning motorists and pedestrians as safety is the Town’s top priority.

Representatives from Sameng Consulting and the Town of Stony Plain will be available at the Open House to answer any questions or concerns from residents on the construction project.

Passport to Paradise – Stony Plain

From June 21 – 29 get your passport stamped, NO purchase necessary, at 37 local businesses.  Return your stamped passport for a prize package over $2000.00

Passports can be picked up at participating businesses, including Kountry Korner Gifts, and the Stony Plain & District Chamber of Commerce at Rotary Park.

Return your stamped passport by July 3,2019 at any participating businesses.  Draw will be July 4, 2019 at Kountry Korner Gifts at 11:00 a.m.

All completed cards are eligible for the Grand Prize. Incomplete cards are eligible for a secondary prize.
